  Legend of the Christmas Wreath

A circular  wreath is an emblem of Christmas, Perfection and Unity.  The shape of a circle has no beginning and no ending,  representing the eternal nature of a god's love and the circle of life.

The holly wreath first symbolized Christ's suffering and ultimate triumph over death.  Its sharp pointed leaves resemble the crown of thorns worn by Jesus on the cross.  The red berries represent drops of His blood.

Wreaths were later formed using evergreen boughs, which remain green and colorful in the winter.  Evergreen is used to represent immortality, the strength of life and that Jesus has eternal life.
